I was nervous about purchasing this cooker after reading the last review. However, I took the plunge as I have the free standing fridge, and I have always found Smeg excellent with customer service.
After opening my door, the inside glass fell out to my horror. I rang Smeg, who were most helpful and the local technician had a new door in place within 48 hours.
I am very happy with the design, the build quality is excellent (much better than Rangemaster) and the cookers performance is fantastic!
I am so pleased I gave it a go!

I purchased this SMEG range cooker at the beginning of this year. After just one month the over door fell off due to a manufacturing defect in the bottom hinge. After raising the issue with customer services the hinge was finally replaced and the door refitted 3 weeks later. A couple of weeks later the inner piece of glass from the door fell out. It took a week for the same engineer to come out to assess the problem, he refitted the glass temporarily but said he would order a new door. 4 weeks later and still nothing had happened. I had to chase SMEG again to get them to re-raise the complaint and they have now told me they cannot get replacement parts!!!!! Seriously, they couldn't get a new door! In summary i have not been able to use one of the ovens for 3 months (and counting) due to the poor build quality and terrible customer service from SMEG. I would not buy this product a second time round.
